167 - How To Find Your Niche If You're Multi-Passionate

This is probably the number one thing I get asked when we're talking niching:

"How do I find my niche when I have all these different skills and I love them all?!"

And yes, I totally get it!

As a person with multiple talents and passions, you don't want to exclude anyone or feel boxed into just one area.

You're afraid to pick a niche because what if it's the wrong one?

It feels like common sense to cast the net wide - have as much opportunity as possible.

Except, that by not being clear on what you're really great at, you're kinda sending a message that you're not great at anything - just good at lots of things.

Which TBH is more than a little confusing for your people - how are they supposed to know what your thing really is?

In a world of abundant choice, we're being selective about who we choose and 9 times out of 10 we go for the person who we see as having experience, knowledge and yes - expertise.

Which means that the specialist is seen as the one with far more credibility!

And... who's deemed to be of higher value and can charge more?

The generalist or specialist?

It's natural to feel that by becoming more specialised limits your opportunity... yet it's practically impossible to be known for multiple things.
