Story: Using a Niche Strategy to Compete With Online Giants Facebook, EBay and Gumtree
Jun 19, 2020I’m super excited to bring you this interview with Sarah Bando, founder of Jumping Jack. Her business competes against the internet giants of eBay, Facebook and Gumtree… so how did she do it?
Firstly she created a very specific niche.
In contrast to the giants who’re trying to cover all categories for online shopping, she’s created a very targeted niche with an Australian marketplace for families to buy and sell high-quality, second-hand baby, kids and maternity clothing.
She’s removed the clutter of the online marketplaces we’re used to – with their endless feeds of random items and terrible listings that tell you nothing about the item….
Instead she’s created an experience designed specifically for clothes shopping. Where you can filter on size, colour, brand, category.
And she’s recently innovated even further with a done-for-you selling service for busy parents who don’t have time to do their own listings.
Imagine – that box of baby stuff sitting in your cupboard, all taken care of on your behalf!
